Hair transplants have given hope to people who are thinning or completely bald by moving healthy hair from one part of the scalp to areas that need it most. The transplanted hair doesn’t know it was moved and takes up residence happily in its new home, growing and taking shape at both the crown and hairline. However, it may take up to a year for the transplanted hair to become established in its new location. This delay can be stressful, but it is a necessary step.
Your doctor will first examine your hair density and existing hair line to create an outline of the grafting sessions and recovery period. They will also help you determine the number of follicular units needed to achieve the coverage you desire. During this consultation, your doctor will explain the different hair transplant methods to you.
The Hair Implant Procedure
Your surgeon will use a local anaesthetic to numb the back of your head and may give you pain-relieving tablets. You will be asked to relax while the anaesthetic takes effect. Then, your surgeon will begin to carefully extract hair follicles for implantation. Depending on the density you want to achieve, you may require several treatment sessions spaced a few weeks apart. 압구정모발이식
Next, the bald or thinning area will be cleaned. Then, your surgeon will make tiny cuts in the scalp and carefully place the healthy hairs in these cuts. During a single treatment session, hundreds or even thousands of hairs may be transplanted. Then, your doctor will cover your scalp with gauze or a bandage to protect the area for a few days. If your doctor used non-dissolvable stitches, they will be removed about 10 days after surgery.
During the Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) method, your doctor will use either a scalpel or a mechanical device called a motorized needle to remove hair follicles from the back of your scalp. They will then relocate these follicles to your thinning or balding areas of the scalp.
The different types of grafts used in this process differ in size and shape. For instance, round-shaped punch grafts contain about 10-15 hairs; mini-grafts contain two to four hairs; micro-grafts contain one or two hairs; and strip grafts are long and thin and can hold 30-40 hairs.
After the procedure, you may have some ooze at the extraction (donor) site or itching. This is normal and will stop once the scabs develop. Avoid scratching the area as this can cause your newly transplanted hair to fall out. Instead, you can use a cotton ball to soak up any blood and avoid the urge to scratch. 모우다의원
Most people are able to return to work and regular activities the day after surgery. You will be given clear and easy instructions on how to care for your grafts during the recovery period.
